How does our email checker work?
-First we check if the email address is in proper format and for syntax errors (ex. hellogmail.com or [email protected]).
-Next we grab the domain of the address, the part right after the ‘@’, and test if the servers are active.
-Lastly, we ask the SMTP servers if the address provided is capable of receiving mail. From there we receive a yes or no answer.

Each bounce counts as a strike against your domain / email, that’s why it is important to check your email addresses. Hard bounces serve a permanent strike to your account while soft bounces are only temporary. The severity of the strikes are proportional to the total amount of emails sent in each campaign.
What is a safe email bounce rate?
Your bounce rate is a calculation based off the total number of emails you send per campaign. It is crucial to keep this calculation as low as possible. A bounce rate of less than 2% is ideal. Anything above that needs attention, if your rate is above 5-10% this suggests that there is a serious issue that needs resolved as soon as possible. If not, you’ll end up in the spam folder.
