When browsing ResetEra it is common to encounter large animated GIF images embedded in posts. For supported image hosts, this extension saves bandwidth by intercepting the HTTP requests for such images and stopping them from being downloaded. It replaces them with the mp4 video that these hosts create from uploaded GIFs and video.
Currently VideoGIF supports Gfycat, GIPHY and Imgur.
Please note that VideoGIF works by redirecting requests and only a single extension is allowed to alter a request. They don't chain. This means that using VideoGIF with other extensions that redirect requests like HTTPS Everywhere can cause conflicts.
