Our Synergy Addons extension adds previously unheralded new features to Synergy StudentVUE, which is a student dashboard. While the normal version has a white background, this app switches on dark mode and therefore protects your eyes better from harmful blue light. During nighttime, this exposure to bright light suppresses the secretion of melatonin, which is a hormone needed for sleep. Also, with the ubiquitous amount of devices being used and an average of people spending 11 hours a day on their devices, dark mode is necessary to control how much this messes up your sleep schedule. Without dark mode, this dazzling screen can cause eye strain, neck and shoulder pain, dry eyes, headaches and blurred vision. As well as this, just lowering the white light a little bit can have a massive impact on your battery life. This extension also includes a Student ID hider, which removes your Student ID which is used as your account for lunch money and library books! Prying eyes no longer can take money out of your school lunch account and check out books and never return them in your name, causing numerous fines with no proof that you weren’t the one that checked it out. Currently, we are also working on improvements such as grade hiders to prevent people from peeking at them and an update dashboard on the front screen which lets you see recent data that has been added.
