Description

Eye strain is an unfortunate side-effect of staring at a computer screen for an extended period of time.

According to the Mayo Clinic, simply giving your eyes a brief rest every 20 minutes goes a long way towards preventing eye strain.
The 20/20/20 rule suggests giving your eyes a break by looking at something 20 feet away, but the Mayo Clinic tells us that simply closing your eyes for the same period of time is also acceptable.

In either case, there are two issues with the 20/20/20 rule:

1) It's impossible for our brain to remember to do something every 20 minutes.

2) 20 minutes may not be a reasonable period of time for some people.

Eye Rest aims to solve both issues by providing a configurable browser extension, which will unobtrusively remind you to rest your eyes every 20 minutes. You also have the option to adjust the time period, amount of time the reminder is displayed as well as the reminder message itself.

What has inspired us?

Extore is a team of professionals who are passionate about creating extensions for web browsers. This devotion also gives us opportunity to appreciate work of other people. We get inspired by useful, open source extensions made by developers all over the world. Our strong belief is that one should share helpful add-ons with others. That’s why we’d like to present you our ever-growing list of favourite extensions that have inspired us. Moreover, as you probably have already learned, sometimes struggling for the best brings an end to the good. Talking about add-ons it often turns out that an upgrade is worse then previous version. Also it can become really tricky to get back to the beloved version of your favourite extension. That’s why we’re going to make not only the latest, but all versions of our favourite (and we hope yours too) add-ons available for download. No more compromises, just stick to the version you really like!
