Try different DISPLAY MODES
From Settings - click extension icon in address-bar to see which display option suits you best.
Note it does nothing on www.YouTube.com website, but works on all other sites that show YouTube player embedded in them.
YouTube Top Comments is a Google Chrome extension that shows (embedded) video’s Description, Rating and Top Comments on any website. Gives more relevant information about the video clip. Beside other websites, it works on Reddit and Facebook too. Vimeo video info preview.
Note: As of July,2013 YouTube changed it's layout, making it harder to fetch particular comments. So now extension shows the first page comments.

I originally created this feature for my Forum Preview extension. Later decided to make it as a separate extension.
2013 July: YouTube made some changes so it's now difficult to pull out only the top comments.
