Jennie Kim (Hangul: 김제니; born January 16, 1996), better known by her stage name Jennie, is a South Korean singer, rapper, and songwriter. She is the main rapper and lead vocalist of the girl group BLACKPINK, formed by YG Entertainment in 2016.

Jennie returned to South Korea in 2010 and qualified for YG Entertainment. She was a trainee at the company for 5 years and 11 months. In 2012, she appeared in Lee Hi's song Special and appeared in the G-Dragon That XX music video she. In 2013, she appeared on G-Dragon's BLACK and Seungri's GG BE songs.

She debuted as the lead vocalist and main rapper of BLACKPINK in 2016.

In October 2018, it was announced that Jennie will be making a solo debut. It was announced that the title of the song would be SOLO, and the music video was released on November 12. Then, Kim won her first award on Inkigayo on November 25, with her song as the only k-pop solo artist song to surpass 300 million views. SOLO also became the first and only K-pop solo artist song with the most views, reaching 600 million views on January 15, 2021.
