This extension brings the legacy activation mechanism defined in BSI TR-03112-7 sec. 3.2.2 (http://docs.ecsec.de/BSI-TR-03112-7) to the Open eCard App (http://www.openecard.org). This way the Open eCard App can be used with all currently specified activation methods.
In order to use this extension, the Open eCard App is needed in a version at least 1.0.1. The Open eCard App can be downloaded at https://jnlp.openecard.org. Furthermore, the app must be running, or an error will be displayed.
On the technical side, the extension works as follows:
1. A web server delivers a page with the eCard specific object tag.
2. The extension recognizes the object as an eCard object and forwards it to the Open eCard App via a HTTP GET parameter.
3. The authentication is performed as usual.
4. The Open eCard App redirects the browser to the destination given in the object.
